With LA LA LAND all the rage in Hollywood these days, it seems not even zombies can resist the urge to sing and dance in the streets…
According to Screen Daily, a musical zom-com called ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE has gone under the lens in and around Glasgow, Scotland. The film, which was penned and set to be directed by 27-year old Ryan McHenry before passing away from cancer in 2015, is now being helmed by John McPhail (WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE). Tying-in further with LA LA LAND, it was Henry who drew notice in 2010 for creating the viral internet hit Ryan Gosling Won't Eat His Cereal.
As for ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE, it follows
A girl and her friends who must fight – and sing – their way through a zombie invasion to reach the supposed safety of their school, not knowing if their parents and friends will still be alive when they get there.
Ella Hunt stars in the flick alongside Mark Benton, Paul Kaye, Malcolm Cumming, Sarah Swire, Christopher Leveaux, Ben Wiggins and Marli Siu. Parkhouse Pictures, AMP International and XYZ Films have partnered on the release of the film, which is slated to shoot for five weeks.
