A third KILL BILL movie, or at least the idea of one, has been floating around for quite some time now with Quentin Tarantino admitting he has talked to Uma Thurman about where a third film could go. The main idea that has made the internet rounds is that could focus on Vivica A. Fox's onscreen daughter, Nikkia "Nikki" Bell, who would be undertaking her own vengeance-fuelled vendetta against Uma Thurman's Bride for what she did to her mother in the opening scene of KILL BILL: VOL.1. Fox herself threw Zendaya's name into the casting ring as the right choice to play the adult version of her daughter and now the Euphoria and DUNE actress has responded to Fox's casting suggestion.
Zendaya has been making the rounds a bit because the trailer for DUNE was attached to screenings of TENET over the weekend and it made its online debut today. On top of that, Zendaya is Emmy nominated as Best Actress in a Drama Series for her transformative turn on HBO's Euphoria. The Emmys are a few short days away and a press question from "Empire" has the actress finally addressing the KILL BILL suggestion by Fox and she is "honored' by Fox's recommendation:
"I saw that! I was quite honored that she would say that. Obviously, she's incredible and I'm very flattered that she would think of me."
Zendaya knows that none of this means that KILL BILL: VOL. 3 is actually happening and she's aware that it's all just rumor and fan speculation with the actress saying "You know, it's just an idea. The internet kinda takes things and runs with it." The casting suggestion came about when Fox, who played assassin Vernita Green a.k.a Copperhead in the first KILL BILL suggested Zendaya for the role. Originally Fox thought that Tarantino was waiting for Ambrosia Kelley, who played her daughter in the first film, to grow up a little bit and that would be her first choice. However, in the same interview, Fox said if they wanted a bigger name they should go with Zendaya:
"How hot would that be? And that would probably green light this project. Because her and Uma are both very tall, and it would just be kick-butt, and I love her. Hopefully now we can put out, like 'Tarantino, cast Zendaya!' And spark his interest to put it on the fast track. Wouldn't it be amazing?"
Quentin Tarantino has teased the possibility of KILL BILL: VOL. 3 in the past. The director admitted last year that he has an idea in mind should he ever pursue the project:
"Well, I just so happened to have had dinner with Uma Thurman last night…I do have an idea of what I would do. That was the whole thing, was conquering that concept, exactly what's happened to the bride? And do I want to do it? Because I wouldn't want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure. She doesn't deserve that, you know, the bride has fought long and hard. But now I actually have an idea that could be interesting. I wouldn't do it for a little bit. It would be at least three years from now, or something like that, but it is definitely in the cards."
I think Zendaya would be a great choice but I'm going to leave this in the realm of a lot of talk and fan-casting because I really don't think a third KILL BILL film is going to happen but, if it did, Zendaya would be an ideal choice to take on that role. Do YOU think Zendaya would be a good choice to play Vivica A. Fox's daughter?
