Zazie Beetz made her debut as Domino in Deadpool 2 and while the actress hasn't heard if she will be returning for the third installment, she would love to revisit the character in the next film and a solo Domino movie.
During a chat with "Collider", the actress was asked whether she had heard anything about the next Deadpool film since its announcement, and even though she hasn't gotten the call from Marvel boss Kevin Feige, she has a big future in mind for her role as Domino if they invite her back:
"No, I haven't [heard about Domino's return]. I would love to revive the role. That was always in the world of what was potentially going to happen. I haven't had any specific conversations around it. But I'm interested. Not only would I love to revive the role, I would love to figure out a way to make a Domino movie or something like that. We'll see what happens, but I haven't had any personal conversations."
The character of Domino made her first appearance in Marvel comics in 1992. Created by writer Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, Domino possesses advanced marksmanship and hand-to-hand combat skills and she's also a mutant whose probability-altering powers essentially make her pretty damn lucky. Zazie Beetz is the first performer to play the role in a live-action film and the fan response for her portrayal at the time of Deadpool 2's release was generally pretty positive.
Based on Beetz's response, it seems like the intention was for her to return in Deadpool 3 before the Disney/Fox merger but it's unclear if those plans have been altered since Deadpool made the move over to the MCU. Zazie Beetz is a solid up-and-coming performer and I think it would be pretty silly not to include her again. I guess it will come down to what direction they want to take the next story in. As for a standalone film, I think I would rather see her again in another Deadpool film before we explored a solo story with the character.
What is known about Deadpool 3 is that Ryan Reynolds will be returning and the film is being written by Bob's Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin. Kevin Feige also assured fans that the film will maintain its R-rated roots despite being in the Disney camp now. Feige said previously that "It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan's overseeing the script right now…it will not be filming this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We've got a number of things we've already announced and that we now have to make, but it's exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life."
