Zack Snyder haters are going to do what they want with this information to forward their cause. Zack Snyder defenders are going to do what they want with this information to forward their cause. Let the battle of the narratives begin, as we now learn that Zack Snyder did indeed direct one scene in SUICIDE SQUAD.
Now, for those of you who haven't seen the film yet and wanted to be surprised about the scene in question, avert your eyes, click elsewhere, do whatever you need to do in order to not read ahead, as we're venturing into SPOILER TERRITORY (You have now officially been warned.)
Early on in the film when Jai Courtney's Captain Boomerang is introduced, we see how he was captured and effectively put into position to join the movie's title band of supervillains. He is stopped by Ezra Miller's Flash, making an ever-so-brief cameo. That was shot in London… by Zack Snyder.
In an interview with Collider, director David Ayer revealed how that set-up came to be.
“Flash was always in the movie, we just got lucky because Justice League was happening and they had the uniform, they had the assets, so we were able to get that photography.”
At the time Flash was added, SUICIDE SQUAD was in post-production, so this is one of those situations where the creative minds at work on the DC Extended Universe were able to be efficient with their time and resources to make a cool moment happen.
It was nothing more than that. Nothing less than that. But people are going to think what they want regardless.
SUICIDE SQUAD is now playing.
