Zachary Levi is thirsty AF in a new high-res photo for DC’s Shazam!

While James Wan and Jason Momoa's AQUAMAN is busy netting $550 million in box office returns during its Christmas opening weekend, it should come as no surprise that a new high-res image for David F. Sandberg's SHAZAM! is making headlines. In the new pic, which was posted via DC's Cinematic Reddit, we find Zachary Levi's caped crusader chuggin' down a Big Thirst-brand soft drink. While several films of DC's past have relied heavily on dark, monochromatic images to showcase their stark tonality, the bright coloring and comedic vibe of this new pic should serve as a clear signal that the studio aims to present something a bit more lighthearted with regard to SHAZAM!

Here's the logline for SHAZAM!:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's (Asher Angel) case, by shouting only one word — SHAZAM! — this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Still a kid at heart — inside a ripped, godlike body — Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

Standing at the helm for DC's kid-turned-superhero adventure is David F. Sandberg (LIGHTS OUT, ANNABELLE: CREATION), who will direct from a script penned by Henry Gayden. Starring in the film alongside Levi is Asher Angel as the young Billy Batson, Mark Strong as the villainous Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Djimon Hounsou as the ancient wizard named Shazam!, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Frederick “Freddy” Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vásquez and Marta Milans as Rosa Vásquez.
