YouTube removes The Nun jump scare ad after complaints

Jumpy YouTube viewers made such a fuss over an ad for the upcoming "Conjuring Universe" film THE NUN that the video-sharing site has dropped the ad, deeming it inappropriate.

The six second ad would play in front of viewers' chosen videos and has the face of "The Nun" herself appearing on the screen, accompanied by a loud noise. It had no effect on me, but apparently a whole lot of people were shaken and took to Twitter to complain about it. You can see the offensive ad below.

Bonnie Aarons stars as THE NUN in the spin-off from THE CONJURING 2. Directed by Corin Hardy from a screenplay written by ANNABELLE and ANNABELLE: CREATION's Gary Dauberman, the film has the following synopsis:

When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate.  Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret.  Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in “The Conjuring 2,” as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

Aarons is joined in the cast by Taissa Farmiga, Demian Bichir, Jonas Bloquet, Charlotte Hope, and Ingrid Bisu.

THE NUN won't reach theatres until September 7th, but it's already scaring the hell out of people.
