The BBC America series Killing Eve follows Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh), a desk-bound MI5 officer who begins tracking down an extremely talented yet psychopathic assassin by the name of Villanelle (Jodie Comer), but even as Polastri's pursuit begins costing lives, the two women find themselves becoming obsessed with one another. My fiancée and I dove into Killing Eve quite recently without knowing much about it, and were surprised with how much we enjoyed it. The series is equal parts suspenseful and hilarious, and both Oh (who recently won a Golden Globe for her role) and Comer are fantastic in their roles. BBC America have released the first trailer for the new season, which will be picking up directly where the first left off. I can't wait.
Sandra Oh said that the second season will further explore Eve and Villanelle's relationship. "We have a lot of energy at the beginning of the [new] season and that pushes them into a different place of vulnerability," Oh explained. There will also be plenty of globe-hopping once again, with trips to Rome, Paris, and Holland. "The one part of the show that we all delight in is that our show has an international feel and flavor to it," Oh said. "It's exciting not only to shoot on and work on and be on those locations, but it also gives such a depth, flavor, and originality to the show."
Killing Eve will return to BBC America and AMC on April 7, 2019.
