So how could Joe Goldberg possibly get his obsessive stalker boy on if he has to follow social distancing protocols? Maybe we'll possibly find out because season three of You has officially started production and its star, Penn Badgley, is sporting a signature You face mask to celebrate the start of filming.
Netflix took to Twitter to announce the start of production and the announcement came in the form of a timely caption that read “We recommend you stay at least 6 feet from Joe Goldberg at all times. ‘You’ Season 3 is back in production.” The photo appears to be taken on the You set and it features Badgley sporting a You-themed mask that reads, “Hello, you.'" The Netflix Twitter post can be viewed below:
You's first season was based on the 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes and followed Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), a New York bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love with a customer named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and quickly develops an extreme, toxic and delusional obsession with her. Season two follows Joe on his move to Los Angeles where he falls in love with a local heiress named Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) but the same toxic extremes that Joe is willing to go to prove to not be left in New York with his past.
The third season is bound to explore Pedretti's character a bit more because she has her own interesting character traits and we will see some new faces as well. Shalita Grant, Travis Van Winkle, and Scott Speedman are joining the cast with Speedman's character being described as "a successful CEO, husband, and uncommunicative father. He’s reserved, at times mysterious, and has a tendency to be withdrawn, all of which masks a deep well of emotion underneath."
What are YOU hoping to see in the upcoming third season?
