You can bring The Devil Lives Here to your home December 13th

Artsploitation Films has acquired the North American distribution rights to directors Rodrigo Gasparini and Dante Vescio's Brazilian horror film THE DEVIL LIVES HERE, which is also known by the titles O DIABO MORA AQUI and THE FOSTERING. The company has scheduled the film for a December 13th DVD and VOD release, and have shared a trailer online to give a glimpse of what Gasparini and Vescio have in store for viewers.

Written by Guilherme Aranha, Rafael Baliú, and M.M. Izidoro, the film has the following synopsis:

Three friends, Ale, Magu and Jorge, go on a trip to visit their friend Apolo at his family’s farm for a weekend of fun. At the same time, Sebastião and his younger brother Luciano are getting ready to perform the spiritual ritual their family has been tasked with every nine months for centuries. On the night the two groups meet, they find out that what they thought were scary tales are more than real. It is now up to them to prevent evil from being born and taking over the world.

Pedro Carvalho, Ivo Müller, Sidney Santiago, Clara Verdier, Diego Goullart, Pedro Caetano, Felipe Frazão, and Mariana Cortines star.

THE DEVIL LIVES HERE has been described as a "Brazilian CANDYMAN" and Scream Horror Mag said it's a "beautiful nightmare" that "grabs you by the throat and rattles your nerves in a manner not at all unlike a Sam Raimi flick." A CANDYMAN / Sam Raimi mash-up sounds like a hell of a movie to me, and the trailer, which can be seen below, sets this film up as a promising supernatural slasher.

Having played at festivals around the world, THE DEVIL LIVES HERE won Best Foreign Film at the 2016 FilmQuest. Now, if the story sounds interesting to you and you like the looks of the trailer, you could be watching it in the comfort of your own home in just a couple weeks. The DVD can be pre-ordered on Amazon at this link.
