Yoda may return to future Star Wars movies

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

During an interview at SXSW, Frank Oz was asked about Yoda's involvement in future STAR WARS films. As the voice of Yoda, it seems he would be privy to that type of information should it be true. Here's what he had to say:

I feel like I’m a prisoner at war here, and I can only give you my name, rank and serial number. To be true to the people who asked me, and they are kind of my family, I have to say I’ve been asked not to talk about it. I love Yoda. I would be happy to talk to you about it at the time they let me.

While that's admittedly not much to go on, I feel it's enough to feel fairly certain that there's some project Yoda might be involved in, especially with the phrase "I would be happy to talk to you about it at the time they let me". Remember, Disney is making a STAR WARS movie every year from here 'til eternity. And believe me, if Disney wanted a man dead, they can do it. Oz knows that as well…

But where would Yoda be? He could conceivably be in one of the main "Skywalker saga" films as a Force ghost to guide Rey or some shit, but it seems much more likely that he might feature in a prequel story or maybe even his own origin movie. Maybe a CAST AWAY type film where he slowly goes insane on Dagobah?

But what do you Schmoes think? Would you like to see Yoda in a future STAR WARS installment? Or do you think he should stay forever sleeping? Sound off below!
