Xlrator Media takes US rights to Ted Levine-starring The Banshee Chapter

It was almost two years ago when we shared the news that STAR TREK and “Heroes” star-turned-producer Zachary Quinto was set to produce the drugs-gone-bad horror flick THE BANSHEE CHAPTER. Several weeks after our initial report we caught word of some casting on the film as SILENCE OF THE LAMBS star Ted Levine, Katia Winter and Michael McMillan had signed on to star in the Blair Erickson-helmed flick. It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard anything from this project but today we have some exciting news for those who have been waiting to see what THE BANSHEE CHAPTER has in store for us.

Xlrator Media has just acquired all U.S. rights to the 3D horror-thriller with plans to bring the film to audiences this fall. No word yet as to whether it will hit theaters or head straight to VOD/DVD/Blu-Ray.

THE BANSHEE CHAPTER centers on a female journalist (Winter) who follows the mysterious trail of a missing friend (McMillian) who had been experimenting with mind-altering chemicals developed in secret government drug tests. A fast-paced blend of fact and fiction, the story is based on real documents, actual test subject testimony, and uncovered secrets about covert programs run by the CIA.

Producer Zachary Quinto shared his enthusiasm for the deal, stating…

In keeping with our commitment to foster first-time feature directors, Before the Door is proud of our collaboration with THE BANSHEE CHAPTER writer/director Blair Erickson. He has created a movie that is as scary as it is intelligent and rooted in a fascinating and factual historical context. We’re excited about partnering with XLrator Media to bring this unique vision to audiences this Fall.”

As always, we’ll keep you updated with news on when you can see THE BANSHEE CHAPTER when we hear it.
