Entertainment Weekly just dropped their latest cover showing off some X-MEN: APOCALYPSE mutants. First up is Michael Fassbender's Magneto. While we've seen the man before, this outfit is a little more jazzed up. Next up is Olivia Munn's Psylocke, and holy hell is she rocking that outfit! Last and certainly least is Oscar Isaac as Ivan Ooze from 1995's MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: THE MOVIE.
Okay, so that's not Ivan Ooze, it's the titular villain himself, Apocalypse. It's worth noting that EW usually doesn't give the greatest first look at beloved characters, but we also have a few more images and a magazine scan that paint a pretty awful picture as well. On the other hand, everyone else is looking pretty spot-on. Have I mentioned Olivia Munn? There's a lady that never really did much for me, but you throw on that outfit…Then again, she's always standing next to Uglyocalypse. I'm so conflicted.
There ya have it! Given that APOCALYPSE takes place in the '80s, that allows director Bryan Singer some leeway with cheesy outfits and hair, but I think he took Apocalypse to a whole, new level. I suppose I should just sit tight until an official trailer is released before I judge, but I somehow don't see this guy being all that menacing. Can we talk about Olivia Munn, though? I feel like we haven't, really.
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE his theaters on May 27, 2016.
How do you think the mutants look?
