At the Television Critics Association press tour panel promoting his upcoming Showtime dramedy “Californication”, David Duchovny mentioned that he expected to get a finished script for the long-rumored sequel to THE X-FILES movie this goddamn week. Says the former alien chaser: “Chris [Carter, the show’s creator] has written it with Frank Spotnitz, and Chris will direct it…And [co-star Gillian Anderson is] on board, and I’m on board, and that’s all I can tell you. I mean, I’m looking forward to seeing what he did.” Either he’s been feeding this delusion about a second X-FILES film for so long that it’s now starting to manifest as a tangible reality in his world or he’s serious and there may actually be a sequel sometime in the near future. Production is apparently expected to begin in November for a summer 2008 release. Read the rest of what Duchovny had to say over HERE.
