WTF news: Red-band trailer for K-11, a violent transgender prison flick directed by…Kristen Stewart’s mom?

Your mom directed that movie!  So, in some really odd news, it turns out that Kristen Stewarts mom is not only a director, but one that made a movie called K-11, about a man trapped in a secret section of the L.A. jail system that houses gay and transgendered bad boys/girls.  So, yeah.

The pic stars Goran Visnjic as the trapped man locked up in the secret jail who is forced to navigate the system of corruption and criminals to get out.  It actually looks like a cool little thriller, complete with a host of animated characters (not literally), especially “the Queen” played by Mexican actress Kate Del Castillo, who plays a brutal transgendered leader of the inmates.  Joining the cast is none other than D.B. Sweeney (SPAWN!), Tommy “Tiny” Lister (THE DARK KNIGHT), Portia Doubleday, and Silent Bob’s better half, Jason Mewes

Here’s the red-band insanity:

I mean, it looks pretty damn crazy and it’s just completely random that it’s directed by Kristen Stewart‘s mom.  Either way, I need to see this craziness.

Here’s the synopsis:

K-11 follows Raymond Saxx Jr. (Goran Visnjic), a powerful record producer who wakes from a drug-induced blackout to find himself locked up and classified “K-11.” Plunged into a nightmarish world ruled by a transsexual diva named Mousey (Kate del Castillo), Raymond is truly a fish out of water. Complicating matters are a troubled young transgender named Butterfly (Portia Doubleday), a predatory child molester (Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister) and the ruthless Sheriff’s Deputy, Lt. Johnson (D.B. Sweeney). Ray’s struggle to contact the outside world and regain his freedom seems impossible, but he must learn to navigate this new power structure if he is ever going survive and be in control of his life again.

K-11 opens in theaters and VOD on March 15, 2013 (fun for the whole family!).
