WTF Happened to the Boy Meets World Cast?

Join us as we explore WTF Happened to the cast of Boy Meets World, one of the most influential and beloved sitcoms of the 1990s.

The ’90s were a hell of a time to be a teen watching television. Steve Urkle terrorized the Winslows with his hormones and buffoonery, Zack Morris, an unchecked sociopath, ruled the halls of Bayside High, and the cast of Boy Meets World dabbled in matters of the heart, disturbing societal norms, and the multitude of ways to conduct a proper Feeny call. Unafraid to tackle harsh topics like child abuse, abandonment, and racism, people identified with the Boy Meets World cast, teens and parents included.

Initially airing on ABC from 1993 to 2000, Boy Meets World starred Ben Savage as Cory Matthews, Will Friedle as Eric Matthews, Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter, Danielle Fishel as Topanga Lawrence, William Daniels as the wisened George Feeny, Trina McGee-Davis as Angela Moore, William Russ as Alan Matthews, Betsy Randle as Amy Matthews, with Lily Nicksay and Lindsay Ridgeway as Morgan Matthews.

It’s been decades since Boy Meets World entertained viewers of ABC’s TGIF lineup. However, the show remains a pop culture highlight for ’90s kids, with core cast members creating additional content related to the show, including the sequel series Girl Meets World and Pod Meets World, a podcast featuring Fishel, Friedle, and Strong recapping episodes. Oddly missing from the ensemble is Ben Savage, who the trio says stopped talking to them out of the blue and hasn’t reached out in years.

Savage and Fishel reprised their roles as Cory and Topanga for Girl Meets World, which aired from 2014 to 2017. As the parents of Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), Cory and Topanga navigate the trials and tribulations of parenthood as Riley and her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) experience adolescence.

Naturally, stars from sitcoms eventually go their separate ways. On March 6, Savage announced his plans to run for office in District 30 in Los Angeles, where he is a “longtime resident.” Savage hopes to “restore faith in government by offering reasonable, innovative, and compassionate solutions to pressing issues in the United States.”
