Captain’s Log: Stardate 99912.9: With the Star Trek franchise boldly going into several new directions throughout recent years, was there room for an R-rated feature film helmed by Quentin Tarantino — and if not — WTF happened? Star Trek producer J.J. Abrams seemed to think so, and in 2017 he even set up a writers’ room to help organize what was essentially Pulp Fiction in space with Tarantino piloting the ship. Unfortunately, like many pie-in-the-sky film projects that are too strange to make it out of the development phase, Tarantino’s Star Trek died on the vine.

But what happened, exactly? How far did Tarantino’s Star Trek make it before the project got scrapped? Would the famed filmmaker allow a Star Trek movie to be his infamous last film? Can a book titled “Chicago Mobs of the Twenties” serve as the foundation for an entire Star Trek adventure set on a planet where gangsters roam and carry Tommy Guns instead of Phasers? Join us as we find out What the f@&% really happened to Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek.
