We've talked about the ups and downs of WORLD WAR Z for months now but one thing we haven't really touched on is the film's score which was composed by Marco Beltrami. The man has one hell of a resume including films like SCREAM, MIMIC, THE FACULTY and so much more.
His latest score for WORLD WAR Z is Beltrami's most innovative and impressive works to date. He recorded with animal skulls, as well as a full orchestra, at Abbey Road Studios and mixed at British Grove Studios in London. Beltrami comments, “The sound of the skull became the basis for the percussion in the score…it added a new intensity.” What a badass! Knowing that will definitely add an entirely new element to the film when you see Brad Pitt and his beautiful golden locks being chased by hungry flesh eating zombies!
The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.
Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox, and David Morse all star in the zombie thriller which is set to open on June 21st.
