Word on Boyle’s next

This year’s thoroughly deserving Oscar winning director Danny Boyle will be making a film out of the Pulitzer Prize-shortlisted novel “Maximum City”, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE screenwriter Simon Beaufoy has revealed. He also talked a little about the work that he will have to, essentially creating a narrative arc out of a book that is really more of a tribute to the city of Mumbai:

“It was only decided a couple of weeks ago, but I will be writing the script for Danny… Maximum City is a non-fiction work, so it will be a huge challenge to find the story in it. It is a wonderful book and I used it in my initial research for Slumdog. There are some great characters in the book, but no stories, so my job will be to get the fictional out of a non-fictional story.”

I’m a little surprised that Boyle is racing to jump back into this region after the kind of shit he has had to, and still continues to deal with in regards the people of Mumbai, but there ya go. I guess it’s never been up for debate that Boyle has a sense of humor. Remember THE BEACH? Ha ha, just kidding. No but seriously I hate that film.
