John Turturro may not be the prettiest guy around but apparently he delivers. I mean, really delivers. You may already know the tale: an older man pimps out his friend in order to make some extra cash. What they didn’t expect was that the gigolo would be scoring beautiful women, and might be unexpectedly falling for one of them. Kind of like DEUCE BIGALOW but classy. I’m only half-kidding. I got a good laugh out of it though.
The film was written and directed by Turturro who has excellent chemistry with co-star Woody Allen. I’ve always been a fan of Turturro even in MR. DEEDS. Man, why am I referencing all this silly comedies alongside this quirky dramatic flick? Eh, it’s late.
“What about Dan Bongo?”
Fioravante decides to become a professional Don Juan as a way of making money to help his cash-strapped friend, Murray. With Murray acting as his “manager”, the duo quickly finds themselves caught up in the crosscurrents of love and money.
FADING GIGOLO hits theaters on April 18, 2014.
