Wonder Woman UK premiere cancelled following the Manchester Attack

Warner Bros. has moved to cancel its WONDER WOMAN U.K. premiere in the wake of the devastating terrorist attack that took place in Manchester on Monday evening. In case you've missed the details on this tragic story, a bomb exploded, killing 22 and injuring 59 concert goers who just wanted to have a good time while taking in a performance at Manchester's MEN Arena by pop star Ariana Grande. Several of the victims were young children, with one of the fatalities being just eight-years-of-age. While the attacker died at the scene, the terrorist organization ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the egregious act of violence.

Now, U.K. government officials, police, and Armed Forces are working together to dismantle a possible network of terrorists operating among the shadows of their country. Now, because of these circumstances, the U.K. government has moved to raise their terrorist threat level from severe to critical, signaling that another attack could happen at any time. Due to the heightened security measures, Warner Bros. made the decision to cancel the U.K. premiere of WONDER WOMAN, as confirmed by a WB spokesperson who presented the following statement:

Our thoughts are with those affected by the recent tragedy in the UK. In light of the current situation, we will not be proceeding with our plans for the Wonder Woman premiere and junket activities in London.

In my opinion, the WB's move to cancel the event signals a tremendous amount of respect for the victims and families of the attack, in addition to exhibiting precaution for the safety of the Amazonian princesses fanbase. Honestly, it's a huge event, and if something were to go wrong, it would be extremely difficult to regain control before people got hurt, or worse. If I may, I'd like to give a tip of my hat to the WB for placing their fan's safety before PR and the almighty dollar. It's a smart, respectful move, and one that Diana would approve of, no doubt.

In closing, be safe out there, folks, and know that our hearts and healing vibes go out to all the victims, families, and friends of the Manchester attack. May you all find peace and know love in all its forms, each and every day.

WONDER WOMAN, starring Gal GadotDavid ThewlisRobin WrightChris Pine, Connie Meilsen, Lucy DavisElena Anaya, and more will assuredly arrive in theaters beginning on June 2, 2017!
