According to Deadline, Wonder Woman 1984 star Gal Gadot is slated to take the lead of Heart of Stone, an international spy thriller from Skydance Media that looks to be a female-centric spin on action franchises such as Mission: Impossible and James Bond.
Tom Harper, director of Peaky Blinders and The Aeronauts, is currently in talks to helm Heart of Stone from a screenplay by Greg Rucka (The Old Guard) and Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures). Not much is known about the plot at this time, but thanks to her time with the Fast & Furious franchise as well as Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot has certainly proven that she can do action with the best of them. Gadot will be pulling in quite the pay-day with the project as the deal is said to be somewhere around 8-figures. Skydance Media also hasn't decided whether Heart of Stone will be destined for theaters or a streaming service, but I would imagine that they'll be keeping their options open considering the state of things.
Gal Gadot will next be seen in Wonder Woman 1984, which will be bringing the action into the 1980s and find Wonder Woman (Gadot) facing off against Maxwell Lord (Pascal) and The Cheetah (Kristen Wiig). The film is slated to hit theaters and HBO Max in the U.S. on December 25th, but will first debut in select international markets on December 16th. Gadot is also set to star in Kenneth Branagh's Death On the Nile, which was set to hit theaters this month but was recently pulled from the schedule, as well as Red Notice, an action thriller directed by Rawson Thurber Marshall (Skyscraper) that also stars Dwayne Johnson (Jumanji: The Next Level) and Ryan Reynolds (Free Guy).
