Wonder Woman 1984 brought the action into the 1980s and found Wonder Woman (Gadot) facing off against Max Lord (Pedro Pascal) and The Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), along with returning characters such as Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), Antiope (Robin Wright), and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine). Although the film didn't receive the same glowing reviews as its predecessor, Wonder Woman 1984 was quite successful as the Nielsen ratings service revealed that HBO Max users spent 2.25 billion minutes watching the film from December 21st-27th.

While it may have taken some time for Warner Bros. to pull the trigger on a Wonder Woman sequel the first time around, they wasted little time in fast-tracking Wonder Woman 3 with both Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins returning for more. "As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able to continue her story with our real life Wonder Women – Gal and Patty – who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy," said Toby Emmerich, Chairman, Warner Bros. Pictures Group. You can check out a review of Wonder Woman 1984 from our own JimmyO right here.
