Wonder Twins movie in development for HBO Max

Wonder Twins, movie, DC, HBO Max

Wonder Twin powers, activate! Form of an HBO Max movie! THR has reported that Zan and Jayna will be getting their very own feature film as Warner Bros. are developing a Wonder Twins movie.

The Wonder Twins movie is set to be written and directed by Adam Sztykiel, who has served as a writer on Rampage, Scoob!, as well as Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming Black Adam movie. Zan and Jayna, the Wonder Twins, first appeared in Hanna-Barbera’s animated series The All-New Super Friends Hour in 1977 and went on to join the larger DC Universe. The extraterrestrial twins are able to activate their superpowers by touching hands and saying, “Wonder Twin powers, activate!” Jayna can transform into any animal with Zan able to become water in any state (kind of got the short end of the stick there). The twins also have a pet space monkey named Gleek who helps them out. Plot details about the Wonder Twins movie are being kept under wraps at this point, but I can’t image that this will be one of Warner Bros.’ grittier DC movies. Although…

Speaking of Black Adam, the long-awaited DC movie stars Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, an antihero from Kahndaq who has been imprisoned for 5,000 years. We finally got a good look at the film in a recent DC Heroes video and it looks like it could be a lot of fun. In addition to Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam is also set to introduce the Justice Society as Noah Centineo is onboard to play Atom Smasher, with Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate. Black Adam is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2022. Black Adam isn’t the only DC movie that Warner Bros. will be releasing in theaters this year, as we’ve also got The Batman on March 4, 2022, The Flash on November 4, 2022, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on December 16, 2022.
