At some point in our lives, it's a good bet that we'll come into contact with the world of Dr. Seuss, be it in books like "Horton Hears a Who!" or "The Cat in the Hat" or even in films adapted from his work such as HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS or THE LORAX. Deadline reports that an upcoming biopic will dive into the life of the author himself, Theodor Seuss Geisel, and will be directed by Stephen Chbosky.
After helming WONDER, the successful 2017 drama which starred Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jacob Tremblay, it seems that the Dr. Seuss biopic will be his next project. Penned by Jonathan Stewart and Eyal Podell, the film will follow the famed author in the 1920s as he "struggles to find his voice as a writer before meeting his muse and future wife in Helen Palmer who propels him into becoming Dr. Suess. Thirty years later, a sudden illness cripples Helen and his career falters, until she ultimately inspires him to fulfill his destiny and create the iconic children’s book, The Cat in the Hat." Dr. Seuss' stories are still being adapted for the big-screen, and the next on the schedule will be THE GRINCH, who will be voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch this time around.
THE GRINCH will hit theaters on November 9, 2018.
