In just under five months we'll be sitting down to watch what will be Hugh Jackman's final turn as Wolverine. Sad to be sure, but all signs are pointing to Jackman and director James Mangold giving the character one hell of an R-rated action-packed swan song. Production on LOGAN wrapped up towards the end of the summer and James Mangold has been dropping tidbits from the upcoming film fairly regularly, be it a poster and script pages, a look at an rough looking Professor X (Patrick Stewart) or the reveal of the villain. Mangold took to Twitter to share the latest goodie from LOGAN, a pair of storyboards featuring Hugh Jackman leaping into action and, presumably, dispatching some nameless baddie.
Since the release of the first X-MEN film back in 2000, audiences have been clamouring to see Wolverine get involved in grittier and bloodier action. They've been able to get away with quite a lot in some of the recent X-MEN flicks, but with LOGAN fully embracing its R-rating, fans will finally get what they want, hopefully. "In this flick, people will get hurt or killed when shit falls on them. They will get just as hurt or just as killed if they get hit with something big and heavy like, say, a car. Should anyone in our story have the misfortune to fall off a roof or out a window, they won't bounce. They will die."
LOGAN is set for a March 3, 2017 release.
