Let’s say you’re a guy who suffers with a curse, and every full moon you uncontrollably transform into a hairy, murderous beast. How much worse could it get?
If they’re trying to make a movie about you, it could get a lot worse.
First, director Mark Romanek (ONE HOUR PHOTO) abruptly left THE WOLF MAN shortly before filming, and was replaced by FX guy Joe Johnston (JUMANJI, JURASSIC PARK III). The Universal remake shot in early-mid 2008, and has since been kicked all over the release schedule like an unwanted dog-man.
After lurching from a late 2008 release to February, then April, then November of this year, the film is now (tentatively?) scheduled to be let off the leash on Feb. 12, 2010.
The Victorian-era terror, an update of the classic monster, stars Benicio del Toro as the afflicted lycanthrope (courtesy of Oscar-winning FX guru Rick Baker, of AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON fame). The remake also stars divine Brit Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving and Sir Anthony Hopkins.
