My Friend Dahmer

In 1978 at the age of eighteen, just three weeks after his high-school graduation, Jeffrey Dahmer committed his first murder, and by the time of his arrest in 1991, Dahmer was known to have killed seventeen boys and young men. Before he became one of the most horrifying serial killers in U.S. history, Jeffrey Dahmer was just a young man struggling with disturbing feelings, and Marc Meyers' MY FRIEND DAHMER, based on the graphic novel of the same name by Derf, chronicles the Dahmer's high-school years leading up to the time he committed his first murder. Check out the first trailer below.

Derf's graphic novel is a fascinating read, diving deeply into Jeffrey Dahmer's tragic adolescence, but as Derf himself puts it, the premise of the book is that "Dahmer was a tragic figure, but that only applies up until the moment he kills. After that horrible day in June 1978, the only tragedy is that Dahmer didn't have the courage to put a gun to his head and end it." MY FRIEND DAHMER stars Ross Lynch (Austin & Ally) as Jeffery Dahmer, Alex Wolff (PATRIOTS DAY) as Derf, Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men) as Dr. Matthews, Anne Heche (The Brave) as Joyce Dahmer, and Dallas Roberts (The Walking Dead) as Lionel Dahmer.

MY FRIEND DAHMER is expected to debut later this year.
