THE INCREDIBLE HULK continues its run at BATMAN BEGINS for ‘best cast for a comic book movie ever’ by casting William Hurt in the role of Gen. Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, father to Bruce Banner’s love interest Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) and nemesis to Bruce Banner’s alter ego, Hulk. Hurt will join Edward Norton as Banner, Tyler, and Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/The Abomination in what is amounting to a prestige picture, as far as comic book movies are concerned. When I found out that the guy who did the TRANSPORTER movies was directing a new HULK movie, I did not expect this kind of talent to join him. William Hurt is one of the finest actors working today and Edward Norton is quite good at pretending to be other people too. The HULK certainly looks incredible so far.
