While most of us are still impatiently waiting to see Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS this Friday, those who already saw the film might wonder if they’ll get to see an extended director’s cut somewhere down the line. Luckily, our very own Jimmy O managed to ask the director that very question at a press event this weekend in London. Here’s Mr. Scott’s response:
“No, I think this is a good length. But that said, I think that now the fashion of actually putting out a couple of discs is here to stay, which will comfort you on all other kinds of conversation about how the movie was made. All you’ll really do is see extended scenes in the menu. Other than that I think this is a pretty good length, the dynamics of this are about right.”
On the one hand, this may be a bit disappointing for those of you wanting to see the universe explored even further, but on the other – it’s great to hear that the director is satisfied with the theatrical cut.
Ridley Scott, director of ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner,’ returns to the genre he helped define. With ‘Prometheus’ he creates a groundbreaking mythology in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Starring Noomi Rapace (below), Michael Fassbender, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Patrick Wilson and Charlize Theron, PROMETHEUS lands in the US on June 8th.
