Will The Rock slay our asses as DC’s Lobo?

Put this one in the rumor bin for now, but several sources have suggested that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is eying a starring role in that LOBO movie adaptation we told you about last month. It all started with Bleeding Cool receiving a tip from “an untested, unknown source” that spoke of “a Hollywood party” at which Mr. Johnson told some fellow partiers that he was going to take the Lobo role. Flimsy, I know, but there’s another tidbit that makes this info somewhat more legit – last week, a Twitter user mentioned how he would love to see The Rock as a DC superhero, to which the man himself retweeted: “Funny U say that…”.

It’s still far from an official confirmation, but in all honesty, it would definitely make sense. Firstly, because Brad Peyton, who’s currently attached to direct the LOBO flick, also has JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND, starring none other than Mr. Johnson, under his belt. Secondly, because… well, how many major actors do you know, that have the physique to portray the muscle-bound space bounty hunter? Not that many, right? The Rock could pull it off without breaking a sweat.

Oh well, we’ll probably find out soon enough. As a huge fan of the comic, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the whole thing to work out.
