Will Corin Hardy’s The Crow remake fly with Jack Huston in lead role?

Relativity Studios remake of THE CROW has seen a bit of trouble getting off the ground over the past couple of years, seeing director F. Javier Gutiérrez step away from the project to helm the next installment of THE RING franchise only to be replaced by Corin Hardy, who helmed the highly lauded THE HALLOW. We then learned that DRACULA UNTOLD's Luke Evans, who had long been attached to THE CROW remake, had also exited the film, leaving Relativity scrambling to find a new lead. It seems that search may be close to over as Deadline is reporting that the studio has set its sights on "Boardwalk Empire" and BEN HUR star Jack Huston.

Talks with Huston are in early stages but if things come together I think this could be rather inspired casting. Relativity Studios is now looking to finally getting this thing moving and in front of cameras as early as this spring and THE CROW could be the perfect fit for the rising star.

THE CROW, which was first brought to the screen by director Alex Proyas and the late actor Brandon Lee, is about a murdered man who comes back for revenge. Pretty simple, this one, but it will be interesting to see what Hardy brings to the tale.

THE CROW is slated for a spring production start with a script by Cliff Dorfman. Gutierrez will be exec producer and O’Barr a consultant. Joining Pressman as producers are Kevin Misher, Relativity’s Ryan Kavanaugh, Jeff Most (who produced the original with Pressman), and Jeff Waxman. Tucker Tooley, Bob and Harvey Weinstein and Dan Farah are exec producers.
