Will Aaron Paul be joining The Dark Tower?

Now that THE DARK TOWER is officially in production, it's time for the casting announcement tsunami. We already know that Idris Elba will play the gunslinger Roland Deschain and Matthew McConaughey is taking the role of the villainous Man in Black, joined by MAD MAX: FURY ROAD's Abbey Lee as Tirana, but who will flesh out the cast?

Currently the rumor mill is letting off sparks that Aaron Paul will be joining the cast as an as-yet unspecified character. He would most likely be Eddie Dean, the "smart-ass heroin junkie," a role that he expressed interest in way back when in 2012, but there are a lot of roles to fill, so who knows?

Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, THE DARK TOWER is planned to be the first in a series with a complementary TV series to follow. The film is currently set for release on January 13, 2017.
