Why do I love movies? Well, that is a loaded question. How much time do you have? I could go into a long-winded diatribe about the art of film-making or the magic of the movies, but all of that has been said countless times before. Not every movie is a masterpiece, but every film has touched me in one way or another. Every other week, we will look at a handful of reasons why movies are so damn great..

CHAPTER XV

I love movies…

Because of the opening scene from CONSPIRACY THEORY.

Because of Martin Sheen‘s hair in SPAWN.

Because of Billy Zane in THE PHANTOM.

Because of Begbie’s bar fights in TRAINSPOTTING.

Because of the penguin from WALLACE & GROMIT.

Because of Mark Strong in TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY.

Because of Cancer Boy from KIDS IN THE HALL: BRAIN CANDY.

Because of the gut-wrenching death of Littlefoot’s mother in THE LAND BEFORE TIME.

Because of the only line of dialogue in THE ARTIST.

Because of Sparky Polastri in BRING IT ON.

Because of Kenneth Branagh in Kenneth Branagh‘s HENRY V.

Because I am not afraid to admit the movie BEACHES makes me tear up every damn time.

Because of Edward Norton in PRIMAL FEAR.

Because of the cigar store Indian from CREEPSHOW 2.

Because of Jeff Bridges in STARMAN.

Because of Oliver Platt dancing in THE THREE MUSKETEERS.

Because of Melanie Griffith in CHERRY 2000.

Because of midnight movies at the local cineplex.

Because of the living painting that is WHAT DREAMS MAY COME.

Because of Paul Rudd in HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS.
