We should know who will be directing CAPTAIN MARVEL in the next month or so, but until then we'll have to make do with rumors and speculations.
The latest one comes from We Got This Covered, who is claiming that indie filmmaker Elizabeth Wood (WHITE GIRL) had a private meeting with Marvel representatives last week about possibly directing the studio's first female-led superhero movie. According to the site, it's believed that the meeting was set up by Wood's husband/producer Gabriel Nussbaum, who has worked with Wood on all of her professional projects.
There's no word on how the meeting went (if there actually was one, of course), but it does seem like Marvel is at least a little keen on hiring Wood to helm the planned comic book movie, and last month a rumor surfaced that the studio might also be eyeing Emily Carmichael to direct. If you had to pick between the two, who would you rather see behind the camera for CAPTAIN MARVEL: Wood or Carmichael?
CAPTAIN MARVEL is scheduled for a March 8, 2019 release.
