I’m not crying! You’re the one who’s crying! * Sniff * Liongate released a trailer for White Bird: A Wonder Story, and I am not okay. Marc Forster (Christopher Robin, Finding Neverland) directs from Mark Bomback’s screenplay, which is based on the book by R.J. Palacio. In the White Bird trailer, kindness has the power to save lives. The story revolves around Wonder‘s Julian Albans (Bryce Gheisar), Auggie’s antagonizing classmate who left Beecher Prep. In the film, Julian visits his Grandmère (Helen Mirren) from Paris and is transformed by her remarkable and unforgettable story of compassion and courage.
As a girl in Nazi-occupied France, the young Grandmère goes into hiding with the help of a schoolmate, a young man who risks everything to give her the chance to survive. Together, they find beauty and love in the secret world of their own creation.
Prepare to bring on the waterworks, eh? White Bird: A Wonder Story stars Ariella Glaser, Orlando Schwerdt, Bryce Gheisar with Gillian Anderson, and Helen Mirren. As you can see from Lionsgate’s White Bird trailer, the film presents an emotional story about how empathy for others can make every difference in the world, even in the most harrowing circumstances.
It’s been a while since a movie preview has choked me up, but the White Bird trailer is getting to me. Maybe the heat or the sight of people being kind to one another makes my eyes sweat. Either way, White Bird: A Wonder Story looks like a brilliant companion story for 2017’s Wonder, which earned $305.9 million worldwide.
I hope you all enjoy salt on your popcorn because tears will flavor your theater snacks when this movie opens on October 14, 2022.
