Whistler Camp: Penny Dreadful creator John Logan to direct Blumhouse film

John Logan created the television series Penny Dreadful, won a Tony for his play Red, wrote the book for the musical Moulin Rouge, has gotten to write two James Bond films (Skyfall and Spectre), and has earned Academy Award nominations for his screenwriting work on Gladiator, The Aviator, and Hugo. The next step in his impressive career is to make his directorial debut, and he's going to do so on a Blumhouse production.

Logan and Blumhouse are teaming up for a horror film called Whistler Camp, which is described as

a queer empowerment story set at a gay conversion camp.

Blumhouse founder Jason Blum will be producing Whistler Camp with Michael Aguilar. Ryan Turek is the creative executive overseeing the project for Blumhouse.

Logan's other credits include Tornado!, Bats, Any Given Sunday, Star Trek: Nemesis, The Last Samurai, Sweeney Todd, Rango, and Alien: Covenant.
