Which mutant team moves forward in a potential sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past?

Although X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST doesn't come out until May of next year, many people are already looking ahead at what's next for the mutant group. We've heard rumors about an X-FORCE movie, but what about the actual X-MEN? Would a sequel to DAYS OF FUTURE PAST have the actors from the original trilogy, or the group from FIRST CLASS?

THE WOLVERINE premiered in the UK recently, and Red Carpet News TV got a chance to ask producer Hutch Parker that exact question about X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST:

I think what's exciting is that it can be both. I think the nature of this project is that they intersect and the legacy can be unique and different for both casts, together and separately. There's a tremendous amount of opportunity that comes out of it.

Parker was also asked how much screen time Wolverine will have in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The most recent news revealed that Wolverine has a pretty important part in the film, and according to Hutch Parker he is in the movie "from stem to stern."

I think that most of us can agree that Fox is planning something big for the X-Men. If they want to build a cinematic universe as big as Marvel's, the X-Men is probably their best opportunity. This doesn't mean we'll definitely get a sequel to both the original trilogy and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, but it does sound like Fox is exploring their options. Things could get very interesting for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST at Comic-Con, so make sure you check back here for our coverage on their panel.
