Although geeklord Joss Whedon has been publicly discussing it since Comic Con of last year, his horror project CABIN IN THE WOODS is finally getting an official announcement.
Whedon (pictured in the Browncoat) co-wrote the script with Drew Goddard (CLOVERFIELD, TV’s LOST and ALIAS), who will direct the MGM thriller about a spooky structure located somewhere in an undisclosed forest area. I presume, anyway — they’re not giving specifics, although Whedon tells MTV that “It’s got a harder and darker edge, but it’s also got classic Whedon qualities. It’ll rip your heart out and be heartfelt at the same time.”
As for Whedon’s other projects, his “horror fantasy” GONERS is currently on the back burner, but his return to the airwaves of FIREFLY-hating Fox happens next year with DOLLHOUSE. More Dushku for you-shku!
