Now the following tidbit is something that I think we should all take with a grain of salt, because this seems a little too out there.
Now it has been almost a year since the news broke about Alcon Entertainment getting the rights to BLADE RUNNER and any and all spin-offs pertaining to the film. It was speculated that we might be getting a new BLADE RUNNER something, but we didn’t really know what it was. Well Ridley Scott then signed on to direct a BLADE RUNNER project, a fresh reboot apparently.
Then we were told by Andrew Kosove producer, that Harrison Ford would have nothing to do with the upcoming project. Now whether or not he knew what he was talking about or a change of heart came about, but the word on the street is that Ford is in early talks to join the new project.
Early talks really could mean anything, he still may have nothing to do with it, or maybe he’s in talks for a different character altogether. This is quite startling news, and certainly keeping interest high in the project. Of course we’ll update you as soon as we hear anything else.
Original film’s synopsis: Deckard is a Blade Runner, a police man of the future who hunts down and terminates replicants, artificially created humans. He wants to get out of the force, but is drawn back in when 4 “skin jobs”, a slang term for replicants, hijack a ship back to Earth. The city that Deckard must search for his prey is a huge, sprawling, bleak vision of the future. This film questions what it is to be human, and why life is so precious.
