What’s new on Blu-ray and DVD this month? (April 2016)

A new month brings a wealth of new Blu-ray and DVD releases, so now's a great time to play catch-up and see what we have ahead of us in April! You can always head to our BLU-RAY AND DVD RELEASE DATES section for a more complete list, but in this column we'll go over some of the more popular titles hitting shelves over the next 4 weeks!

April 5th

The first week of April starts off with a bang as STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS makes its way to consumers. Sci-fi fans have even more to look forward to outside of the popular space opera, as Doctor Who: Series 9 and the first season of The Expanse hit shelves as well.

April 12th

If you're looking to scratch that comic book itch after seeing BATMAN V SUPERMAN in theaters, DC has you covered as the original animated film, JUSTICE LEAGUE VS TEEN TITANS, arrives. You can also get your horror fix with the cult classic, BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR, as well as David Goyer's THE FOREST.

April 19th

Leonardo DiCaprio finally won his Oscar and you can see award-worthy performance come April 19th with THE REVENANT. If that's not quite your pace, perhaps you'll find solace in kung-fu master Donnie Yen's IP MAN 3. Still not enough? Gaspar Noe's Collector's Edition of LOVE just might get your blood pumping!

April 26th

Rounding out the month of April is a healthy dose of horror and laughs with KRAMPUS and RIDE ALONG 2. You'll also get a chance to check out Natalie Portman's western, JANE GOT A GUN. If you're looking for something from yesteryear, perhaps it's time to revisit Robert Zemeckis' DEATH BECOMES HER to see if the film still holds up!
