What We Do in the Shadows to see U.S. release in February

This Friday will see the U.K release of Jemaine Clement's horror-comedy mockumentary WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, but if you live in the U.S. you still have a few months to wait. If you've been patiently awaiting this flick as we have then you're probably wondering how much longer we have to wait to finally check out the winner of the Toronto Film Fest People's Choice Award, and now we know as The Wrap is reporting that Unison Films, in association with Funny or Die and Paladin, will release WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADWOS on February 13 in New York and Los Angeles, with a national rollout scheduled for early March.

The film follows an unhip quartet of vampire friends ranging in age from 183 to 8,000 years old as they squabble over household chores, the struggle to keep up with the latest trends and the rigors of living on a strict diet. "Flight of the Conchords" creators Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi co-wrote and co-directed.

Follow the lives of Viago (Taika Waititi), Deacon (Jonathan Brugh), and Vladislav (Jemaine Clement) – three flatmates who are just trying to get by and overcome life's obstacles-like being immortal vampires who must feast on human blood. Hundreds of years old, the vampires are finding that beyond sunlight catastrophes, hitting the main artery, and not being able to get a sense of their wardrobe without a reflection-modern society has them struggling with the mundane like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming flatmate conflicts.

Unison films will handle the theatrical release and Paladin and Funny or Die will contribute to the social media and marketing campaign upon release.

After the series of clips we've seen over the past couple of weeks my excitement for this flick has grown. It looks like a bloody hilarious good time, and February seems so far away.
