A couple months ago, we shared a trio of promos for the upcoming horror comedy mockumentary series What We Do in the Shadows, which is set in the same universe as Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi's film WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (which also received a TV spin-off called Wellington Paranormal in its native New Zealand). At that time, all we knew was that the What We Do in the Shadows TV show would be reaching FX sometime in 2019. Now a new promo has arrived to let us know that the first episode will be airing in March… but we still don't know a specific date.
Executive produced by Waititi, Clement, Paul Simms, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, and Garrett Basch, this series will center on
three vampires who live together: Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Nandor (Kayvan Novak) — the former two are husband and wife. Also living with them is a fourth vampire named Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), who’s an “energy vampire.” Instead of blood, he sucks the energy out of his victims by boring them to death with mundane anecdotes and bad jokes. The office is his feeding ground, but his powers also work on his vampire roomies.
Also in the cast are Harvey Guillen as the vampires' "sweet but fumbling" familiar Guillermo, and in unspecified roles Beanie Feldstein, Doug Jones, Mark Proksch, and Jake McDorman.
Check out the new promo below and see if What We Do in the Shadows looks like a show you'd like to tune in for.
