The fourth season of FX’s vampire comedy series What We Do in the Shadows is set to premiere on July 12th, and with that date quickly approaching the network has released a trailer for the new season. Check it out in the embed above!
A spin-off from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s horror-comedy mockumentary film of the same title, What We Do in the Shadows centers on
three vampires who live together: Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Nandor (Kayvan Novak) — the former two are husband and wife. Also living with them is a fourth vampire named Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), who’s an “energy vampire.” Instead of blood, he sucks the energy out of his victims by boring them to death with mundane anecdotes and bad jokes. The office is his feeding ground, but his powers also work on his vampire roomies.
What We Do in the Shadows is executive produced by Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement, Paul Simms, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, and Garrett Basch.
Fans of What We Do in the Shadows have it very good at the moment, as not only do they have a new season to look forward to next month, but FX has already ordered a fifth and sixth season of the show. There are many more laughs to come from this series. Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX, sent out the following statement:
There’s a lot of life left in our favorite vampires from Staten Island and FX couldn’t be more thrilled to commit to two additional seasons of this phenomenal series. What We Do in the Shadows excels on every level, from the brilliant cast and surprising guest stars to the producers, writers, directors and crew. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy season four, knowing that the next two are on the way.”
I have seen the What We Do in the Shadows movie, but have yet to watch any episodes of this TV show. I’m going to fix that one of these days.
