I think we can all agree at this point that while it wasn't necessarily a "remake" of the original film, 2009's FRIDAY THE 13TH remake was a whole hell of a lot of bloody, boob-filled fun. But what do the film's producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller think of the remake all these years later?
Turns out the Platinum Dunes producers have learned a thing or two about how smart the audience for these films are and in a recent sit-down with Cinema Blend, the pair revealed just what knowledge they carried over for their new film A QUIET PLACE directed by John Krasinski.
Producer Brad Fuller:
Our audience is smarter than most people think they are. You don't have to explain everything. There's always a backlash. For example, on Friday the 13th, where we showed young Jason, we loved those scenes, but there was so much backlash. 'Why do you have to show the backstory? Why do you have to tell us that?' I think in this movie where we don't have dialogue it offers you the ability to not have to explain as much because you can't, and it feels like people are enjoying the fact that we don't say where these aliens are coming from or other things. So, I think we give a lot of credit to our audience and hope that they will be satisfied and they get it.

Synopsis:
Against the advice of locals and police, Clay (Jared Padalecki) scours the eerie woods surrounding Crystal Lake for his missing sister. Hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees lies in wait for a chance to use his razor-sharp machete on Clay and the group of college students who have come to the forest to party.
The remake was directed by Marcus Nispel from a script written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift and starred Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Amanda Righetti, Travis Van Winkle, Derek Mears as Jason.
