After almost 20 years, the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise has steadily remained one of the most entertaining (and lucrative) franchises in Hollywood. Star Tom Cruise has created a cinematic goldmine in portraying IMF agent Ethan Hunt, who defies all manner of convuluted plotting, insane stunts, and badass action to deliver time the goods time and again for the spy series, based on the 1960's TV show. Each installment offers a new vision from a new director, with the likes of Brian De Palma, John Woo, J.J. Abrams, Brad Bird, and now Christopher McQuarrie in the latest installment, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION.
Most folks would agree that the franchise has gotten better and better with each new installment and many are having the same conversation yet again for ROGUE NATION, saying that the bar has once again been set. Currently sitting at a certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, expectations are high for the newest entry and it seems like they'll be adequately met. Our own Chris Bumbray gave it an 8/10, saying the film is "…a roller-coaster ride from start-to-finish and a film that will likely please even the most jaded action fan." With a recommendation like that, we'll accept this mission.
