What did you think of…Deadpool?

After a decidedly unsatisfactory debut in 2009's X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, the Merc With The Mouth aka Wade Wilson aka DEADPOOL has returned to make a better impression in a solo venture. Starring Ryan Reynolds as the tituler 'Pool as well as Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand, the Tim Miller directed superhero flick is hitting theaters with an appropriate R-rating, making it a hell of a gamble for the genre. However, given the passion and persistence of fans, which in turn fueled Reynolds and co. to get this sucker made, it appears to be one worth taking. With an absolutely brilliant marketing blitz, DEADPOOL has certainly sold the hell out of its brand. Now, it's go time.

Reviews came flooding in from secret fan screenings and then press screenings which have been overwhelmingly positive, which has resulted in a certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Our own Chris Bumbray fell in the middle of the road, giving it an averaged out 7/10, while Eric Walkuski had a better experience, giving it a solid 8/10. Personally, I Ioved the shit out of it and can't wait to see it again multiple times. If you're a fan of the comics then you're in for a real treat. If you're new to the character then it's either going to be a terrific or terrible experience, depending largely on your sense of humor and whether or not you "get" the humor. Either way, there's no denying that DEADPOOL has the potential to be a game changer to the genre, which will all come down to its box office performance.
