Wes Anderson's THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL will be hitting theaters this week, but the director is apparently already developing a new project. In an interview with The Playlist, Anderson revealed he's working with Roman Coppola on the project, however he also says there's a chance it won't be a movie.
“I do have some ideas for the next thing I want to make which is very complicated. I'm not even sure if it even is a movie. But hopefully it is. Roman Coppola and I are working on aspects of it together."
The site tried to dig some more information out of Wes Anderson, asking him if the film will have any theatrical elements or could possibly be done on a stage, if it's not going to be a movie.
“Well, it could have that. But in a way it's a little bit vaguely avant-garde in its concept and I'm just not sure if it's going to quite gel. I'm trying to think of a good tease. I think the thing is well, it's a thing where maybe there’s ‘many things happening at once.’ That could be my tease.”
I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan, so new stuff from the director is always good news in my opinion. I don't care if it's a stage production, a commercial, or a television series, if Wes Anderson is involved, I'm interested. I definitely want to know more about this project, and hopefully there will be some more details about it soon.
Wes Anderson's THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL starring Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Harvey Keitel, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson and Tom Wilkinson will be released on March 7th, 2014.
