Werewolves Within, the new film from Scare Me (watch it HERE) director Josh Ruben, is based on a video game that was set in a medieval village. Scripted by Mishna Wolff, the adaptation ditches that setting and moves the concept into modern day – and judging by the newly released trailer, embedded above, it looks like the film is going to be quite entertaining despite that major change.
IFC Films will be giving Werewolves Within a theatrical release on June 25th, with an On Demand and Digital release following on July 2nd.
Here's the synopsis:
After a proposed gas pipeline creates divisions within the small town of Beaverfield, and a snowstorm traps its residents together inside the local inn, newly arrived forest ranger FINN (Sam Richardson) and postal worker CECILY (Milana Vayntrub) must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.
Richardson and Vayntrub are joined in the cast by George Basil, Sarah Burns, Michael Chernus, Catherine Curtin, Wayne Duvall, Harvey Guillén, Rebecca Henderson, Cheyenne Jackson, Michaela Watkins, and Glenn Fleshler.
Richardson also produced the film with Ubisoft's Jason Altman, Margaret Boykin, and Andrew Lieberman, and Vanishing Angle's Matt Miller, Natalie Metzger, and Benjamin Wiessner.
IFC Films' Arianna Bocco described Werewolves Within as "wild and hilarious". I look forward to checking it out this summer.
