With the season finale of AMC's "The Walking Dead" shambling towards us this Sunday, we've learned that we can expect to see the first promo for the upcoming companion series (possibly titled "Fear The Walking Dead") the same night on the after-show "The Talking Dead".
ScreenFab is reporting that the new "The Walking Dead" spinoff will have its first promo on Sunday’s edition of "The Talking Dead", offering us the first footage of the show and clueing us in on what we can expect to see. Airing after "The Walking Dead" season 5 finale, the guests will include Norman Reedus and showrunner Scott Gimple.
"The Walking Dead" spinoff (the title has yet to be confirmed, but has been referenced as "Cobalt" and "Fear the Walking Dead") is set to premiere sometime this summer and has already been approved for two seasons. The first season will only have 6 episodes, while the episode count for season 2 is still unknown.
Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert from “The Walking Dead” are executive producers of the new series, which, like the original, is being produced by AMC Studios. Dave Erickson (“Marco Polo,” “Sons of Anarchy”), who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, is an executive producer and showrunner.
The new series will be set in Los Angeles and focused on new characters and storylines, which will see Cliff Curtis (“Missing,” “Gang Related”), Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, “Sons of Anarchy”), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm) all star.
If you'll miss "The Talking Dead" on Sunday night we'll have the promo for the companion series here on Monday morning for you to check out.
