I wish to hell BREAKING DAWN was a sequel to SHAUN OF THE DEAD where Shaun & Zombie Ed take their hip hop dance routine to Britain’s Got Talent. F*ck me that would be a cool movie. But no, it’s a Twilight thing. The fourth. ’cause we’re running out of jokes on the second who’s not even out yet.
So the folks of Hollywood Reporter devoted an entire Q&A session with director Chris Weitz to nothing but his gig on the shiny vampires film, since I guess he never did anything else of interest in his career (…) and talk went to the rumors that he might direct the 4th, about Shaun & Ed who take… Anyway, says he:
“No official offer has been made. The fans have been enthusiastic about the footage and the trailer, and the studio responds to that by feeling good about me. We’ll have to see how people feel about the entire movie, not only the studio but the fans, before the verdict is out whether I direct Number 4. David Slade is doing a great job on the third film, and by the time that comes out, he’ll be the flavor of the moment.’’
Weitz also politely addressed the Rachelle Lefevre situation, saying it’s not clear to him what the “scheduling conflict” was about but feels she has lots of great things ahead of her. And that Opie’s daughter is a terrific actress as well. Can’t get more diplomatic than that. Rachelle, sweety, you deserve way better roles anyway!
